Position Summary

We are seeking an experienced project coordinator to work toward long term embedded change in our family violence response system in Bass Coast.

Change for Sam Project Coordinator overview

Following the tragic death of Samantha Fraser in Cowes in 2018, community members and service providers came together to develop the Change for Sam Initiative aimed at increasing community awareness about gender-based violence and providing better support for women and children experiencing violence within our local community.

The Change for Sam Initiative is led by passionate community members and a collaborative group of agencies, local community service organisations and local businesses.

The Change for Sam Steering Committee successfully secured funding through the State Government from Family Safety Victoria to appoint the Change for Sam Project Coordinator to continue the work of the steering committee and the implementation of its action plan, in particular to ensure the integrated delivery of all relevant services both on Phillip Island and in the Bass Coast area.

We are seeking a Project Coordinator who can look at the local service system and it’s response to women and children experiencing family violence. We understand that there are areas of the service system that are disjointed or do not respond in a way that takes into account the varied experience, needs and complexities that each women who experiences family violence faces.
