Position Summary

We are seeking applications from nurses passionate about facilitating acccess to learning, development and growth opportunities and fostering a culture of life-long learning. Clinical Nurse Educators are responsible for the planning, implementation and evaluation of educational initiatives.  Clinical Educators identify workforce learning needs, craft tailored learning plans and coordinate development opportunities. These may include organising in-service sessions, facilitating study days, conducting thorough needs analyses, identifying avenues for professional growth and development opportunities and providing Learning and Development representation during times of service development. 

The Learning and Development team currently has two Clinical Nurse Educator positions available 0.6EFT permenant part time and 0.4EFT temporary part time until March 16th 2025.  These positions will be allocated a portfolio of clinical focus - current departmental requirements see support required in the Learning and Development Clinical Nurse Educator and Inpatient Services Clinical Nurse Educator portfolios. These roles will support skill development and organisational service growth within these portfolios. 

MANDATORY:

• Registered Nurse holding current registration with NMBA
• Demonstrated experience in specialty area of nursing
• Evidence of recent clinical experience.
• Previous experience in support and development of staff
• Evidence of active participation in continuing education and self-development activities.
• A valid Police Check and WWCC

This position is looking for someone with experience in the theatre technician role, proven ability to work in a team environment and willingness to learn on the job. 

Specific requirements:

• Certificate IV in Operating Theatre Technician Support or equivalent would be highly regarded
• theatre technician experience is essential.

The DEMT is the principal point of contact for all vocational and pre-vocational post-graduate doctors in training.

Key responsibilities include:

• Clinical supervision of junior medical staff.
• For vocational trainees: coordinating formative and summative assessments, such as Workplace Based Assessments (WBAs) and In-Training Assessments (ITAs), compliant with specialist college regulations.
• For non-vocational medical officers and interns: coordinating term assessments, compliant with Postgraduate Medical Council of Victoria (PMCV) regulations.
• Coordinating the ED Learning and Development program, in collaboration with the Clinical DEM.
• Fulfilling the FACEM-lead role in BCH’s Emergency Medicine Education/Training (EMET) program, in collaboration with the Clinical DEM.
• Clinical service provision in Wonthaggi ED and short stay unit.

Key Result Areas

• Recruitment and retention of suitable doctors in training.
• Fulfilment of regulatory compliance with external institutions such as ACEM and PMCV.
• Fulfilment of education/training deliverables stipulated in the EMET program at BCH

Requirements of the position are:

  • 2 or more years post attaining Fellowship of the Australasian College for Emergency Medicine (FACEM)

A Cardiologist is a full qualified and admitted Medical Doctor working in a hospital setting. This position will be factional/full time salaried position with limited right to private practice. This position will be involved in the education and supervision of undergraduate and postgraduate trainees. The Cardiologist will report to the Chief Medical Officer.
The Cardiologist will:
• Be part of the Senior Medical Team at BCH.
• Provide inpatient care to medical patients within credentialed privileges granted.
• Provide assessment services for patients attending the Emergency Department when required.
• If employed in a salaried capacity provide outpatient services to referred patients.
• Provide consultative and medical management support to other specialists.
• Provide supervision and training to medical students, interns, registrars and other junior medical and nursing staff.

• MBBS or equivalent
• Registered by the Medical Board of Australia and not have any imposed restrictions on their practice by AHPRA
• Current medical indemnity insurance policy

This is a part-time (0.5 FTE) position, job-shared with one other registrar.

Requirements of the position are:

• Fully registered medical practitioner with the APHRA

Position Summary

The Grade 2 Adult Community Health Occupational Therapist provides high quality occupational therapy services to clients referred to the Adult Community Health service, across a variety of funding streams. The position aims to provide a flexible and responsive service that works to meet each consumer’s identified rehabilitation goals. The position involves the provision of client-centred, goal directed occupational therapy treatment programs in the client’s home or in the community rehabilitation centres located across the Bass Coast Health network. The Occupational Therapist promotes the health and independence of clients and facilitates their ability to live safely in the community through active service models. The clinical caseload is varied and may include neurological, orthopaedic, cardiac, spinal, pulmonary and functional decline diagnoses. The Occupational Therapist is responsible for the provision of appropriate clinical management of clients referred, and subsequent consultation with other disciplines as required. This role may be involved in rotations within the Bass Coast Health service in home or centre based teams, as organisational need arises. The Grade 2 Adult Community Health Occupational Therapist understands wider organisational and public health influences on the acute, subacute and community based public hospital service and works effectively for the client within these parameters.

We are seeking enthusiastic and eligible Registered Graduate Nurses to particpate in our 2024 Graduate Program commencing February or July 2024  - Your Graduation Program at Bass Coast Health will give you the opportunity to take part in two, six month rotations across a variety of streams at Bass Coast Health's Wonthaggi and San Remo sites. The BCH GNP provides a supportive environment which through practice and education helps graduates become confident and competent clinicians.

Applicants will have demonstrated clinical leadership experience within a public health service, with experience in a rural and/or regional health service advantageous. Applicants should have a strong interest in supporting and growing the dermatology department.

The Registered Nurse demonstrates competence in the provision of person-centred care as specified by the registering authority’s licence to practise, education preparation and context of care.  A Registered Nurse is required to work as a productive member of a nursing team under the direction of the Nurse Unit Manager, is expected to work within their scope of practice and demonstrate a sound level of skills in assessment, care planning, practice and evaluation in the provision of care to clients and their significant others.

About You

You must also meet the following requirements:

• Registration with Nursing Midwifery Board Australia (NMBA)
• A minimum of 3 years’ experience
• Well-developed clinical skills
• Strongly developed leadership skills and experience
• Ability to time manage and work in a busy Acute ward
• Demonstrated ability to work collaboratively and consultatively as part of a multidisciplinary team
• Good written and oral communication skills
• A current driver’s licence
• A Valid Police check
• COVID-19 Vaccination in accordance with the Chief Health officer -COVID-19 Mandatory Vaccination Directions
• Flu Vaccination
